FAQs about the Beginners’ Yoga Workshops
>>> Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, it’s all provided. Just wear something comfy, inc maybe socks and jumper.
>>> I’m not flexible / I have an injury – can I do it?
Absolutely! These workshops are open to all abilities / flexibilities / those with injuries. The only caveat is that there are around 50 steps down to the studio. There’s a handrail almost all the way (the exception is on the flat bit). If you can mange the steps, the rest is a breeze.
>>> I can’t get down on the floor, so I can’t do yoga, can I?
I have great news for you! It’s a total myth that yoga has to be done on the floor! Yoga can be done in chairs and on couches and beds. I have taught yoga in all those places!
If you have mobility issues, contact me in advance, just to let me know. In return, I promise to surprise you with how easy it is to adapt the poses to suit you 🙂
>>> Am I too old?
I promise you’re not. I have students in the 80+ range. If you can get down the steps, you’re all good.
>>> Can children come?
No, I am not trained or insured to accept anyone under the age of 18.
>>> Is it for men, or just women?
Open to all genders, including men, women, and non-binary individuals. (Did you know that yoga was actually invented by men, for men?!)
>>> I’ve done other types of yoga before, but not Hatha / Yin. Do I need to attend these workshops?
- If you are interested in Hatha Yoga, and if you’ve done anything like Iyengar, Dynamic, Bikram, Flow etc – you may find you already know more about Hatha than you think. If you’re not sure, contact me and we can work it out together.
- If you are interested in Yin Yoga, even if you’ve done other types of yoga, you will find that Yin is completely different. This beginners’ workshop is a great entry point to explore this unusual practice.
Note: You do not have to attend these workshops in order to attend my classes. All my regular weekly classes are beginner-friendly. But these workshops will give you a greater understanding of the practices.
>>> I come to your classes every week, but I’d like to learn more. Can I come?
Sure! In regular classes, we are limited to how much we can cover about the practice of Hatha and Yin yoga. If you’re ready to learn more, these workshops are a great opportunity!
