Recipe: Date Truffles


This one comes from the Velochef cookbook - recipes for cyclists in training and competition. So you know it’s healthy. It also happens to be yummy, and is probably the most-commented on food item in each of our Retreats and Zen Sessions!


  • 20 stoned soft dates (we use Medjool dates)

  • 10g rolled oats

  • 2tbsp coconut oil

  • 10g cocoa powder

  • Chopped hazelnuts, pistachios or dessicated coconut, to decorate


  • Chop the dates

  • Mix all the ingredients with a spoon and put in the fridge. Leave for about an hour.

  • Take the mixture out when solidified, and roll into little balls using your hands

  • Roll the balls in the chopped nuts or coconut.
